A Big Thank You to the Women Who Ispired Us

V and I thought it would be fun to share with our blog friends pictures of the women who inspire us everyday, and along our way.....

The first ladies I'd like to introduce you to are our grandmothers. To the left is my grandmother Ella. (yep, I was named after her). The lovely and serious looking young lady to the right is V's grandmother Vitina. V and I were blessed with loving grandmothers.
They were fearless women in those days!

These inspirational Ladies were the first to share Faith with V. They are truly her spiritual sisters...
L-R: Bristi, Julie, Denise, and Doris

This is my Italian family.... the lady in the front is my Beautiful mother who taught me to sew, love life, find joy no matter what life throws at me. And she blessed me with the names of her inspiration....
Her mother, Ella (on the far left), and her favorite aunt, Marie (on the far right).

I would love to share a picture of my family right here but I honestly don't have one on my computer.....
I better do something about that!
My family and dearest friends are the best inspiration a girl could ask for.....
Now, tell us who inspires you?

A little Visit to Shabby Chic Boutique

I can tell y'all that V and I are Shoppers as well as shop owners! We love a beautiful shop to wander through and dream about and....well, shop.
We found a beautiful shop just around the corner from us. It is a partnership of two lovely ladies, Frances (Shaby Chic Boutique) and Rebecca (Eclectic Charm)  we are tickled that they were gracious enough to let us share a tour with our blog friends. But I must tell you this shop is full to the top with treasure and to get the full effect of how awesome it is you will have to go have a look see!
(I will share the address and shop hours at the end.)

This is kind of a long shot of several of my favorite vignettes.
I will share a closer look...

Beautiful Corbels.....
(V loved these and couldn't stop talking about them. I have a feeling there will be a new love affair with these corbels in her future)

I have an on going addiction love affair with soup tureens. I am trying to quit, but when you find treasure like this how can you say no?

I happen to have one of these gates in the garage, can't you see a oval mirror hanging on it? Love this look, so meeeee! How did they know?

I wanted to nap here. This day bed called to me.....

I have a lot of boots, My dad was quite the boot addict collector.
I loved this look and think it is brilliant. seriously if you have family pieces you can't part with and can't wear this is the perfect keepsake idea......

If I had brought a book with me I would have curled up there and read the day away....
please note the feathered lamp shade, I have never been a feather boa kind of girl but this is one boa I could love. It gives the lamps an almost ethereal quality, just gorgeous....

Isn't he handsome............."Do you come here often?"

And One of the prettiest vignettes we saw......

was Miss Megan (owner Francis' Daughter) while she was helping mom out at the shop.....

Which one is the mama and which one is the daughter....
They are as Lovely as their shop....

That was only half....
buckle up so we can shop the other half of the boutique....

Who doesn't love a fire place...

what more could I say...

need a vase? ....hello watering can......
to me these little touches everywhere you turn is what makes a beautiful shop experience.....

beautiful displays everywhere you turned......

  What a cute blue planer.......

Maybe I'll nap here too......

Almost went home with this vase.... second guessed myself and now I am regretting.
Don't do This boys and girls, If you love it then buy it! I am going back for this "goodie"

....And probably this......
This is a fun pillow, and it has the most delicious texture. I decorate my home in alot of monotone's...
(Mr E isn't a fan, so he gets his own living room).... So texture is very important to me. And this is really good texture in an accent color..... PERFECT...
V and I would like to thank Francis and Megan, our new friends, for indulging us on our shop visit, and letting us share the beautiful pictures we took with all of you.
It was truly our pleasure.

Little Spring Project to Brighten Your Home

Here is a little make over to share with you.
I am needing a little "BRIGHT" in my spring here in the North West. I will list all my supplies at the end.
(Please try to not notice the mess and bins, getting ready for Junk Salvation Show next month)

Start with one unfortunate looking bunny. He had blue and pink raffia with silk roses around his neck. I removed that before the light bulb came on and said "blog project opportunity" .

A little of this
and....

That...

Then, staying true to my inner southern girl.....
I needed more glitter. so I rummaged in the glitter bin and found Martha's glitter, shown here. It added the perfect texture.
(I actually borrowed this from V in the winter, sorry V. I will return it promptly.)

A little new Dressing and my bunny is fabulous!

I keep this crepe paper ruffled and ready. I get very little time to make things (Gorgeous hubby, house remodel, 3 teen aged daughters, 2 dogs, 1 cat, new business...need I say more?)
I think having things ready to use makes it more fun to be creative.
I added circles cut from book pages to make a rosette.
V makes these amazing book nests and she cuts holes in books so she gives me her circles (that sounds funny, you know what I mean) and I use them on EVERYTHING.

He has a new home on the side board in our family room. I think he is perfect to help us welcome spring into our home.

  • PAPER MACHE BUNNY USED OR NEW (mine was used)
  • 3M SPRAY ADHESIVE (non-yellowing)
  • MICA, GLITTER, ANYTHING SPARKLY
  • CREPE PAPER RUFFLED FOR COLLAR
  • CIRCLES OF VINTAGE PAPER (I used book pages but music paper would be cute also)
  • HOT GLUE (to attach collar)
  • PERFECT SPOT TO PLACE YOUR NEW SPRING TIME FRIEND!
I hope you enjoyed this little project and it makes you want to go searching for some projects of your own.
We would love to hear about them and see what you created.

Happy spring blog friends!
