Little Spring Project to Brighten Your Home

Here is a little make over to share with you.
I am needing a little "BRIGHT" in my spring here in the North West. I will list all my supplies at the end.
(Please try to not notice the mess and bins, getting ready for Junk Salvation Show next month)

Start with one unfortunate looking bunny. He had blue and pink raffia with silk roses around his neck. I removed that before the light bulb came on and said "blog project opportunity" .

A little of this
and....

That...

Then, staying true to my inner southern girl.....
I needed more glitter. so I rummaged in the glitter bin and found Martha's glitter, shown here. It added the perfect texture.
(I actually borrowed this from V in the winter, sorry V. I will return it promptly.)

A little new Dressing and my bunny is fabulous!

I keep this crepe paper ruffled and ready. I get very little time to make things (Gorgeous hubby, house remodel, 3 teen aged daughters, 2 dogs, 1 cat, new business...need I say more?)
I think having things ready to use makes it more fun to be creative.
I added circles cut from book pages to make a rosette.
V makes these amazing book nests and she cuts holes in books so she gives me her circles (that sounds funny, you know what I mean) and I use them on EVERYTHING.

He has a new home on the side board in our family room. I think he is perfect to help us welcome spring into our home.

  • PAPER MACHE BUNNY USED OR NEW (mine was used)
  • 3M SPRAY ADHESIVE (non-yellowing)
  • MICA, GLITTER, ANYTHING SPARKLY
  • CREPE PAPER RUFFLED FOR COLLAR
  • CIRCLES OF VINTAGE PAPER (I used book pages but music paper would be cute also)
  • HOT GLUE (to attach collar)
  • PERFECT SPOT TO PLACE YOUR NEW SPRING TIME FRIEND!
I hope you enjoyed this little project and it makes you want to go searching for some projects of your own.
We would love to hear about them and see what you created.

Happy spring blog friends!

Victoria and I would like to send out prayers for the victims of Japans earthquake and tsunami. Some how prayers and donations leave us feeling so helpless. Its awful to watch video on the news and see pictures on the Internet and not be able to do more.  If prayers are all we have then We will continue to pray for the survivors and their families affected by the tragedy.

New home for the "The Quiet Nest"

Come take the journey with us along our new venture.....
It's a beautiful old brick building in down town Buckley.....
(Yep,  I said Buckley)

Set up is a circus of puting larger pieces in first to get a flow going.....

This is a hutch that has been a faithful friend to our set up for some time, it never fails us......

Of course Victoria and I had help from our sweeties....
and a few not so little "helpers".....
Good thing I don't pay them by the hour......

My youngest girlie is a decorator in training. She has the best eye for pretty things, She follows more blogs than I do.......

This is Mr. Ella helping the "QN" with window dressings.....
One of the chandeliers the shop owner has installed down the isle....
So pretty, ooh la la!

Almost there....

And a few finishing touches......

And our first customer....

We'd like to thank all of our friends for inquiring where and when we were going to be moving in and opening.......
the Queen's Ransome is now open!
Come on out to Buckley and have a look see and when your done try a delicious sandwich at the Buckley Sandwich Shop (I recommend the "Lumberjack").
